Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Emphasizes Using Telehealth During COVID-19 Virus Outbreak

Using video telehealth appointments, you can connect with your VA care teams from anywhere, without traveling and exposing yourself, your family, and other Veterans to COVID-19.

Video telehealth options, such as VA Video Connect, will enable you and your VA care team to conduct secure, real-time video visits using the camera on your phone, computer, or tablet. If you don’t need an in-person physical examination, VA Video Connect enables you to reach your care team without making the trip to a VA facility.

Making healthy choices, like the decision to stay home when you are sick, will help protect you and other Veterans. This video shows how easy it is to use telehealth visits at the VA. You can watch the PSA video here.

If you have flu-like symptoms such as fever, cough, and shortness of breath, contact your provider before you visit your local medical center or clinic. If you have an appointment, consider changing it to a telehealth appointment. You can also use My HealtheVet’s Secure Messaging feature to contact your care team to ask non-urgent health questions and change your appointments to telehealth.

You can use VA Video Connect on your computer or on your Apple or Android devices. To get started, message your provider about using VA Video Connect for your next appointment. You can also learn more on the VA Video Connect page on the VA App Store.
