My contacts within the VBA have alerted me that the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for 2021 includes changes to the presumptive conditions related to exposure to Agent Orange in service.
The guidance for the new regulations show that bladder cancer, hypothyroidism, and Parkinsonism have been added to the list of conditions presumed to be caused by Agent Orange exposure.
The bottom line takeaway from this is: if you 1. have any of these conditions, 2. may have been exposed to Agent Orange, and (optionally) 3. have been previously denied, or have been considering filing a claim for these conditions, now is the time to do so (or try again). Your claim may be temporarily put on hold while the details are worked out, but you will be closer to the front of the line for these types of claims.
